SR20 = pics or it didn't happen = no picture
no SR20 = no (no picture)
My apologies if this has been discussed before.

IMO it's not a double negative, as we are using the term "SR20" in two ways; firstly as a title of a verification clause stating that you saw something, and second as a term indicating the presence of evidence.
SR20 (Verification clause) = provide pictures for verification purposes
No SR20 = I cannot provide pictures for verification purposes, but I totally purchased a blue Lotus Esprit
SR20 = I can provide pictures for verifications purposes, and they are as follows...

There once was a dude who claimed he got an SR20 (never posted a picture of it) and was reposted on the front page by a sucker editor, once that he claimed he had escaped a high speed fine by declaring to the cop that he was a Jalop. Not only that... he wrote as well that after he took the coop on a ride, and made him squeal like a pig. All fake, of course. And the front page drank it all.

He claimed to have gotten a Lotus. His username was SR20.

There was a commenter with the handle SR20Spitfire (IIRC) that made several claims but the largest of which is that he purchased a used blue Lotus Esprit V8. Pictures were requested and requested but none were provided. Once day in Oppositelock, he posted a story about how speeding at night (or to work, I can't remember) he was pulled over by a state trooper. Upon inspecting his license and looking over the car, the trooper asked if the driver was "SR20 from Jalopnik". SR20 confirmed and then stated the trooper was also a Jalop, and let him go with a warning. The story made the front page of Jalopnik and all hell broke loose when people started demanding verification of Lotus ownership by SR20Spitfire. After brushing it off for about a week (IIRC) SR20Spitfire brokedown and wrote a long post stating that yes, he lied about the pullover and buying the Lotus, and that he had issues with compulsive lying and that he wanted to feel accepted by the community here and though pretending to own a Lotus would do that. Much butthurt was had all-around. He disappeared for a while and came back with a similar handle, but from then-on, referencing or using the term "SR20" essentially meant "pics or it didn't happen". I think he still lurks here from time to time.

Gotcha. I guess the only problem I've got with that definition is that it makes SR20 a "positive", even though the real SR20 didn't have photos to verify his claims.
Alternately:
My dad totally just bought a Ferrari LaFerrari and let me drive it!
SR20? (is this a false claim with no photo evidence?)
Not SR20, I promise! ( no, really, it so happened, you gotta believe meee! )
Okay, clearly SR20.

That conversation would go like this:
Commenter: My dad totally just bought a Ferrari LaFerrari and let me drive it!
Skeptic: SR20?
Commenter:
No SR20; haven't taken pics yet
Skeptic: Bullcrap!

Some say...he still lurks around here. And on the occasional Lotus post, he may drop a comment under the pseudonym 'LotuSR20'
